Who are some of your heroes in the birth world?
We got to chat with one of ours in this episode. Lindsey Bliss, also known as @doulabliss on Instagram - mom of 7 (including 2 sets of consecutive twins), doula, doula trainer, co-director of Carriage House Birth and the author of “The Doula’s Guide to Empowering Your Birth: A Complete Labor and Childbirth Companion for Parents to Be,” shared some of her time with us to talk about all the hats she wears, some of her birth experiences, and what inspired her latest work.
The doula seed was planted in Lindsey at a young age. Watching her mom in her work with childbirth education, Lindsey would identify a uterus at the wise age of 2.
One of the things we love about Lindsey is how real she keeps it. Telling it straight, while staying informed and empowered.
In our conversation we touch on how she possibly found time to write a book (and a great one, we’ll add). We also get into some of the specific themes and section
s of the book like education and care geared specifically to the LGBTQIA communities, the struggles of postpartum, the importance of self-care for mamas and what’s next for her and her Carriage House Birth tribe.
