How Men Can Get More Involved in the Birth Experience with Scott Kirschenbaum, director of the documentary “These Are My Hours”

June 27, 2018

What if men were just as excited about birth as mothers were?

Today is a very special episode. Matthew gets to chat with Scott Kirschenbaum, the director and producer of the new birth documentary film “These Are My Hours,” an intimate immersion into one woman’s experience of giving birth. The film is told and viewed completely through the perspective of the birthing mother Emily (whom we are interviewing in our next episode so stay tuned!).

This is a really unique and powerful conversation to add to the birth world. First of all, it’s two dudes talking about birth in a loving and empowering way (you don’t see that everyday!). It also reveals the possibility for us as a culture when it relates to birth. That everything can shift in a positive way when we approach birth with the proper care, attention and reverence. Plus, we get to hear all about the process of creating this extraordinary film.
